Current roadmap focus

At this point, the current goal is to stabilize features and documentation for a 3.0.0 (non-rc) release. A soft target date of a Feb 22 release is the current ballbark estimate.

3.0 branch release

Besides some minor documentation cleanup, there is now a milestone target in the issues tracker to ensure notable tasks are complete before a formal release.

There may be a couple further minor rc candidates, but a 3.0.0 release should occur "soon" by pushing out new feature wishes into a 3.1 release branch/cycle.

Future roadmap focus

3.1 branch development

Some new features and ideas are opened as issues filed against a 3.1 branch milestone. After a 3.0 series release, development will open up for more invasive or complex changes targeted to this branch.
